Montreal, 6.5 years later

Last weekend Luis and I taught workshops in Montreal for the first time. It was a wonderful visit hosted by Las Piernas Tango. I love the environment Jean-Phillipe, Marina and Manuel are creating there: warm, creative and unpretentious.

The visit triggered many memories since even though it was our first time teaching in Montreal, this was actually our second time in the city. In November 2006, a few months after Luis and I started our partnership, we went to the Montreal Tango Rendez-Vous Festival just for fun and ended up being asked to perform after two of the guest artists could not make it to the event. I was just starting my tango career so performing in a big festival was scary, exciting, amazing and just unforgettable!

Here are our performances from last weekend:

"Bien Pulenta" by D'Arienzo

"Duo de Amor" by Piazzolla

"Asi Es La Milonga" by D'Arienzo

"Corazon de Oro" by Canaro --- this was chosen by the audience!

And here are the performances from the Tango Rendez-Vous in 2006, two of our oldest recorded performances:

"Nothing Else Matters" by Apocalyptica

"Tango Negro" by Caceres
